→ Gabba the Gobble and the Largonauts

Gabba is an intensive multiplayer game that focuses on fast and accessible fun. The game is based on social interaction amongst the players, a lot of good laughs and availability. It’s a character-driven game about eating or being eaten.

The player controls a single character directly, and the object is to navigate your character on a battle arena, competing with other players for the edible objects. By eating objects the character will gain weight and increase in size. The different sizes between players are what gives them various strengths or weaknesses. The smaller players move around faster and can therefore tackle other slower players much easier. But the large players have more power and therefore an advantage when eating smaller players.

→ Kaoskuber

Kaoskuber is an abstract, strategic tabletop game similar to Othello and Go in that the basic rules are very simple - however, unlike the aforementioned games Kaoskuber is preferably played by up to four players, all competing against each other.

Rules are simple, you turn uncolored cubes to your color when its your turn. Cubes turned must me next to another cube in your own color. When cubes of other colors is near the cube you are turning to your color they will be turned into new colors according to this colorscheme. Red -> Green -> Blue -> Yellow -> Red. Quick turnarounds, comebacks, temporary alliances and a flurry of rotating cubes makes it earn its name. It's up to the players to tame the chaos by thinking ahead and outsmart each other. The game is designed to be both portable and robust, thus making it ideal for the café or pub.

Details

The game was planned, designed, tested and manufactured by a team of four people, in three days, with a budget of 200 SEK. This was part of one of our very first assignments as students at Gamemaker, designed to let us practice both game design and teamwork.
